Elizabeth & James Shoes

Even though I'm not so keen on the Olsen twins as actresses, or celebrities in general, I do love their clothes. Mary Kate's boho (bag lady) chic & Ashley's sleek silhouettes are scrutinized and duplicated by the masses, so it really is no surprise that their clothing line, Elizabeth & James, has taken off. What began as a simple contemporary line has now come to include jewelry - and most recently shoes! They are not as fabulous as I had expected - check them out for yourself......

Wishlist - Summer Must Haves

As the temperature rises and my summer wardrobe starts seeing some action, I am on the hunt for the perfect additions to my closet. First up - wedges. Both cute and comfortable, walking is a breeze compared those 5 inch stilettos I'm ready to retire for the season.

These from BCBGirls are pretty close to perfect and they don't break the bank.

Next up - I need a shoulder bag. The last thing I want is to tote around a huge purse when it is hot & humid. This colorful, beaded one is the best I've seen (and I've done my research!).

Okay, for the last item on my list I may be behind the curve, but I am now ready to be the proud owner of a pair of boyfriend jeans. I have shopped around and only the original will do - Current /Elliott's.

Of course - there will always be things I 'need' to add to my wardrobe - these will have to do until I find my next source of inspiration:)

Wanderlust: Thailand

I have been wanting to make my way to Asia for quite some time now, and Thailand is at the top of my list. Culture, beaches, food, shopping - the country really has a lot to offer!

Thailand's tourism seems to have rebooted after the devastation of the Tsunami in 2004 - my dream destination is Khao Lak, paradise on the Andaman Coast. There really is something for everyone, from deluxe villas with private pools to nature preserves accesible to those willing to sacrifice all amenities and rough it. Since I fit into neither of the above mentioned categories, my hard earned pennies will be going towards the Khaolak Orchid Beach Resort. Electric blue water, pristine sand beaches and coral reefs? Perfection.

Style Inspiration. I Die.

I have to admit, I love Rachel Zoe.... Sure, she isn't a fan favorite by any stretch of the imagination, but the girl knows how to dress. I love how effortessly she channels the 1970's and bohemian chic.

Beach Comber

Well, I'm off to the land of sun and surf - be jealous, be very jealous :) While I am working on my tan, er hiding in the shade, think about me in paradise. Wearing my new favorite addition to the closet - Birkenstocks. That's right, the shoe I swore up and down I would never own, much less covet, has worked its way into my wardrobe (and my heart). They are a take on the classic style, and they are going to give me a little more shock absorption than my dear Havaianas when I am hitting the pavement this summer. Until Monday........

Gossip Girl Goes Downtown

Hold on to your headbands Upper East Siders! For all of you who love Target, Gossip Girl, and Anna Sui, you can thank your lucky stars that a collaboration is in the works. Coming in September of 2009, Anna will debut her first collection for the discount giant, and get this, her inspiration will be the ladies of GG! I can't wait because the $500 pricetag for an Anna Sui dress is more dream than reality.

Mommy Dearest

As most of you already know, this Sunday is a tribute to the woman who gave you life - celebrate accordingly! Since I have an entire continent separating me and my mother, I will be ordering something online. So - flowers, chocolates, diamonds? Here are my top gift ideas....

Anything from Vosges Chocolates! These are seriously delicious, so much in fact my mom has to hide them from my dad...

I love flowers, but I don't like to send them online. You never know what you are getting and if you read the fine print it says "colors and varieties may vary". How reassuring.

These Natori Robe and Pajamas are just what my mom needs. It's a nice change from the current t-shirt and sweatpants and the floral print just oozes happiness.

The gift of Netflix! In any denomination, 1 month all the way up to a year if you are so (financially) inclined. With over a million titles and the new technology that allows you to watch directly on your tv, you are sure to nail the coveted spot of 'favorite child'.

Sunshine State

It may be Wednesday for the rest of you, but today is Friday for me! That's right, I'm headed down south for some serious rest & relaxation. Goodbye 50 and raining, hello 85 and sunny. Going away on vacation always presents a problem: what to pack? I am keeping it simple since I will be staying with my 83 year old grandmother, hitting the beach, and hopefully some flea markets; and I've got to fit it all in a carry-on bag! Here are the things that can get me through the weekend without skimping on style:

This James Perse Floor Length Racerback Dress can take me from the airplane to the Country Club, paired with my favorite Havaianas or these amazing Miss Sixty Flip Flops. To hit the beach, I'm bringing my trusty Red Carter Mirage Bikini which is super cute, and can be mixed and matched with just about any other solid color! And I can't forget the SPF - this trip I will be slathering on Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Body Mist SPF 45 and shading my face with this Spillane Straw Fedora from Urban Outfitters since we all know wrinkles don't go with anything....

Met Gala: My Best Dressed List

It was definitely see and be seen at last night's Met Costume Institute Gala, and here are my top 3 best dressed in case you missed any of the red carpet action!

1. No shock here, she was co-hosting the event for a reason. Kate Moss killed it in head to toe gold.

2. Coming in second, Justin Timberlake (Ignore that woman in red next to him). I'll admit, I'm a sucker for a man in a tux.

3. Rounding out the top 3 is french actress Marion Cotillard. I like everything about this peach colored frock, including the man on her arm, Mr. John Galliano.
